Thank you, MegaFood®, for partnering with me on this post! As always, all opinions are my own.
Summer is such a special time of year! My birthday is in July so it’s always a time I look forward to, plus I live in Los Angeles where we have especially warm weather. A lot of times I think people feel like to beat the heat they need to stay indoors, sit on the sofa and blast the air conditioner. There’s definitely a time for that but summer to me means taking advantage of the longer sunlight days and getting outdoors.
Here are some quick, inexpensive, easy ways to be healthy and active this summer!
Make a refreshing smoothie
If you’re not having smoothies in the summer, are you even living? 😀 I love this easy matcha turmeric smoothie recipe. I always have a warm cup of matcha in the morning to start my day but sometimes you just need an extra little boost of energy, so this smoothie is something I’ve been having in the afternoon as a refreshing treat, with extra anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits.
Go to your local farmer’s market
There are so many incredible fruits and vegetables that are in season in the summertime. I went to the farmer’s market this past weekend and picked up some cherry tomatoes, strawberries, and blueberries and they were all so sweet! They are the perfect snack or topping to a summer salad.
Make use of the water around you
If you’re fortunate enough to live close to a pool, beach, lake or some form of water – use it! It might feel out of the way or you may think it’s easier to stay indoors, but your winter self will thank you for cherishing the warm water when you had it.
Go for a hike
I’ve been hiking more lately because it’s such an easy way to get movement into my day. I live near a few trails so it’s always a ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ experience. All I really have to do is make sure I pack sunscreen, water, and bring Tiger Lily along with some water and treats – she loves those beef jerky treats.
I love making the most of the summer, but all the hard “play” in the hot sun can sometimes be draining. That’s why I’ve been supplementing with thenew Multivitamin Soft Chews by MegaFood. They recently launch this new line with specific formulas for women, men and children. I’ve been taking the Women’s Multivitamin Soft Chews, and I love that it’s perfect for women like me who are on the go during summertime. Just one Mixed Berry flavored chew each day delivers Vitamins A, C, D, E, a blast of B vitamins to support energy,* plus nourishing farm-fresh organic cranberry. These chews deliver the nutrition you need and make it easy and tasty!
