It doesn’t quite feel right to call Health LA a “gym” because it is so much more than that. Right when you walk in, you don’t feel as though you’re going to workout, I felt like I was entering an oasis – it was so tranquil and clean. I was immediately greeted by a friendly trainer, Kollins, who walked me through the entire facility.
I soon began to see that Health LA really is your one stop health and wellness shop.
Gym: Kollins asked if I had a water bottle – which I did and it was running on low. He said perfect because they offer alkaline water to their clients. Yay +1 for Health LA already.
The gym area of Health LA has a lot of the basics such as treadmills, weights, benches for weight lifting. What’s also cool about this gym is that they have a couple of row machines, boxing bags, battle ropes (which is SUCH a good workout). Battle ropes have actually been hard to find at most boutique gyms.
Health LA also has a separate yoga studio which in 2016 will be converted into a Pilates studio with reformers.
Honestly, the greatest thing about this gym is that everyone really CARES. I felt so taken care of – with a BMI/weight/goal health assessment and semi private training session. Any question I had was answered with time and care.
No pain, no gain: I took a HIIT type class on Tuesday evening with Alejandro. 24 hours later, my body is feeling sore in my back, legs, and abs mostly. The class consisted of 3 rounds of circuit training – running, rowing, boxing, you name it we did it!
