No stranger to kickboxing, I decided to spend my 100th(!) ClassPass class doing what I love – kickboxing. Admittedly, I haven’t gone in so long so I anticipated to be quite winded…and yes, I was! Whoever thinks 3 minutes is not long, try kickboxing for 3 minutes straight. You will want to pass out! What a great way to increase your endurance and strength training!
Class: Class was one hour long, with a series of combos and circuits, to really keep the heart rate up. The first half of class, we did kicks, push kicks, and knees on a bag. Once we completed these combos a series of times, we’d drop to do planks, situps, or some other form of torture 😛 The second half of class was partner work. We teamed up with one person wearing Thai pads, and the other doing a combination with kicks, knees, and punches. I do wish that there was a short instructor led cool down/stretch after class because the class did end abruptly. However, the class was such a good workout I would still come back, despite the lack of cool down.
No pain, no gain: Only a couple of hours after class and I’m already sore in my glutes and upper back/arms.
Amenities:
- Showers
- Towel service
Parking: Luckily, there is a parking lot attached to the gym; however, it’s small! You can find street parking and a paid lot behind the gym as well.
Tips:
- Show up early so you can claim your parking spot!
- I may have missed it but I didn’t see a water station, so definitely bring your own water bottle!
- This gym has a plethora of classes available. I took kickboxing but will be trying a Crossfit class soon!

I totally follow you on ig and do classpass as well, it seems like we do a lot of the same classes! But….I’m not a pro at kick-boxing…I just started prevail and that’s the extent of my boxing knowledge. Do you think brick is more advanced?
Hi! Totally sorry for the late reply! I didn’t get an alert for some reason. I think Brick is way more advanced, just because it incorporates kicks and boy does that really up the intensity lol. So it’s less HIIT moves that Prevail has and just straight up boxing/kickboxing for the full session. And lots of partnering up with someone else for mitt work. If you ever wanna work out, let me know! 🙂
